Gente, que coisa mais linda esse festival!!!
Pra começar, ele acontece no primeiro dia de lua cheia do ano novo chinês. Legal né?! As lanternas podem simbolizar a pessoa deixando o seu “eu” do passado e se transformando em um novo “eu”, que eles deixarão pra trás no ano seguinte. As lanternas também simbolizam sorte e esperança.
Bom, claro que o festival aqui de Auckland não tem toda a proporção do a China, mas mesmo assim, é muuuito lindo!

To start, it happens on the first night (full moon) of the chinese year. Cool aye?! The lanterns can symbolize the people letting go of their past selves and getting new ones, which they will let go of the next year. The lanterns also symbolize good luck and hope.
Well, of course the festival here in Aukland doesn’t have the same proportion as the one in China, but is still reeeeally pretty!
The festival had stalls of traditional food, bands, folk performances and of course, lanterns!
