I guess everyone in Brasil already knows what is happening, so:
"This is an international perspective on the protesting currently taking place in Brazil.
I have personally spent some time in some of Brazil's public hospitals that could have desperately used some more funding. They were overwhelmed with patients with not enough beds and people having to sleep on the floor and in hallways at no fault of the doctors/nurses/admin staff.
An extra billion spread across two or three public hospitals could make a real difference. I am not against the world cup as the money has already been spent on the infrastructure so to cancel it would just advance the national debt. The protests are probably 3 years too late, better late than never. Allocation of public funding should always be publically scrutinized in a democracy. It is a good example of how a powerful media force can control the majority of almost 200 million people.” Tim SearleI have personally spent some time in some of Brazil's public hospitals that could have desperately used some more funding. Apart from this, people realised that after all the improvement within the Brazilian economy, life didn’t change very much. All the money just disappears into corruption and inefficiency. The buying power is much higher than the value of things and the quality of life doesn’t correspond to the amount of tax we pay.
I love Brazil , I love the weather, the culture, the people. I am passionate about every good thing Brasil has to offer. Because of this, I was one of the million people that celebrated when Brazil was chosen to host the World Cup and the Olympics. I saw it as a chance to have my country seen by the world and maybe this would help us somehow. I think we deserve that. But above all, we deserve a better government, better education, better public transport, less violence, less social inequality, less sweeping under the rug, and more. Much more.
