Pangaimotu and the Secret Cove

Day 4 - Pangaimotu

Confesso que minha intenção ao ir pra Tonga era ter umas férias bem relax. Daquele bom jeitinho mineiro de sentar na praia, beber cerveja e bater papo o dia todo. Com a diferença de que eu não bebi muita cerveja, porque o preço por lá não era tão amigo quanto o brasileiro. =P

Mas quando cheguei lá e vi o quão maravilhoso o lugar era, tudo que eu queria era conhecer a ilha inteirinha. Então acabou que o meu terceiro dia foi o mais (talvez o único) relax! Na maravilhosa ilha de Pangaimotu.

I have to admit that when I thought about going to Tonga, all I wanted was to have a very relaxing holiday. Like the people in my state in Brazil usually do: just sit at the beach, drink beer and chat all day. The difference was that I didn't drink much beer, as the price in Tonga is not as friendy as the price in Brazil. =P

But when I got there and realised how beautiful the place was, all I wanted was to visit the whole island! So, at the end, my third day was the most relaxing of all! In the gorgeous island of Pangaimotu.

O que eu mais gosto em viajar, além de conhecer novas culturas, é conhecer gente nova! Tem alguma coisa em sair da minha zona de conforto, de conversar com gente que eu não conheço, que me faz ser mais eu. Acredito que muita gente deseja, ou já desejou ser outra pessoa, ou viver a vida de outra pessoa. Mas com toda a dificuldade que a gente as vezes tem, é tão bom sermos verdadeiramente nós mesmos! Com nossos próprios problemas e alegrias!

Bom, na viagem pra Paingamotu conheci muita gente legal! E são essas pessoas que a gente conhece no caminho, são as que fazem a viagem muito mais interessante! =)

What I like most about travelling, beyond learning more about new cultures, is to meet new people! There's something about getting out of my comfort zone and talking to people I don't know, that makes me be more like myself. I guess a lot of people wish to be someone else sometimes, or live someone else's life. But with all the difficulties we have every now and then, it is so good to truly be ourselves! With our own problems and joys! 

Well, I met some really nice people on this trip! And the people we meet on the way, are the ones that make our trip much more interesting! =)

Day 5

O quarto dia foi uma malhação e uma correria só! hahaha...Toby e eu andamos uns 50km de bicicleta, na minha missão de conhecer a ilha toda. Em Ha'atafu, encontramos com o George (rei da floresta...hihi), e dos Blow Holes tivemos que padalar correndo de volta pra Nuku'alofa, onde eu tinha combinado de encontrar o Cam, a Monique e a Tajeen, que são todos voluntários lá em Tonga. Legal né? =) De lá pedalamos mais uns quilômetros, até chegar em Secret Cove, que gente, é secreta mesmo viu! Pra chegar lá, só com quem conhece mesmo! Passando por um matagal mais alto que eu, subindo e descendo pedra carregando a bike, e atolando na lama. Tudo de bom, pessoas maravilhosas e a melhor praia! =)

The forth day was a work out! hahaha...Toby and I rode our bikes for about 50km, on my mission to go get to see the whole island. In Ha'atafu we met George (king of the jungle..hihi), and from the Blow Holes we had to speed back to Nuku'alofa, where I had organised to meet Cam, Monique and Tajeen, who are volunteers in Tonga. Cool aye? =) From there we rode a bit more until we got to the Secret Cove, which maaan it is secret indeed! You can only get there with people that actually know about it. We went through a bush that was higher than us, going up and down the rocks carring the bikes and getting stuck on mud. Best time, awesome people and nicest beach ever!

Blow Holes

Ah é, pra terminar o dia, pegamos uma carona na carroceria de um caminhão (o que aqui parece ser uma coisa normal). Eu não andava na carroceria desde que eu era adolescente,  na camionete do vovô, lá no interior. Que delícia! =)

Oh yeah, to end the day, we got a ride on the back of a truck (in here this seems to be normal). I hadn't done it since I was a teenager, on my grandpa's car, in the countryside. Such a good feeling! =)
